Children learn best when they are free to explore, create, and discover.
We prepare children for what comes next with real early academics, but we do it through hands-on play, real materials, and time outside, not worksheets.
Nature-based learning
Soil, water, seeds, and weather are part of the curriculum. Our backyard is being redesigned around natural play, with garden beds and a mud kitchen in place of plastic toys.
Hands on, not worksheets
Magna tiles, a pretend market, puppet theater, and splatter paint. Math, language, and early literacy are tucked inside the play.
Small by design
One caregiver for every four children, and a mixed-age home where siblings stay together. Rida knows every child, and every family, by name.
Rooted in faith
Our program is built on core Christian values of faith, love, and kindness. Every child here is safe, valued, and loved as a unique child of God.
Program Basics
A day at Precious Blessings
Every age has its own rhythm inside the same warm day. Babies nap when they need to. Older children move between choices, circle time, and the outdoors.
A slow start, a warm meal, and time to say good morning.
Free exploration for the littlest ones (6 to 23 months), music and movement for 2 to 3 year olds, and circle time for 3 to 4½ year olds.
First nap for babies. Activity choices for 1 to 2 year olds. Hands-on, play-based learning for preschoolers, the kind that does not feel like learning.
Story time, books, and puppet theater, then indoor or outdoor free play.
Wash hands, bathroom break, and a home-cooked lunch together.
Building, art, sensory trays, and small-group projects.
The day winds down with open play and music until pick-up.
Tuition
Straightforward monthly tuition that includes breakfast, lunch, and two snacks. Subsidized care is accepted.
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

About Rida
"My favorite part is building deep, lasting relationships with the children and their families."
Rida Battuta is the owner and lead provider of Precious Blessings Daycare. She has worked in childcare since finishing high school, in daycare centers and in family home daycares, and earned her degree in Early Childhood Development in 2007. She explored other careers along the way, and kept coming back. Childcare was the work she loved.
When her first child was born, Rida opened her own program in her Oakland home. Her daughter is five now, and the program has grown up alongside her. Rida believes small class sizes and a strong sense of community let her understand each child as an individual, and give them a supportive foundation in their most important early years.

Do you have openings right now?
We are currently accepting new enrollments for children 6 months to 10 years. The fastest way to check availability for your child's age is to schedule a tour.
Do you accept child care subsidies?
Yes. Subsidized care is accepted. Bring your paperwork to the tour and Rida will walk you through it.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
No. We care for children from 6 months, and potty training happens here at each child's pace.
What about food?
Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are included every day, cooked at home. Recent lunches have included wild cod fish sticks and mac and cheese with organic fruits and vegetables.
